Ahlstrom offers qualitative and quantitative filter papers to be used in a variety of analytical methods. All these papers consist of greater than 95% super refined alpha-cellulose and linter fibers and are produced under tightly controlled manufacturing conditions to provide lot-to-lot reproducibility.
Qualitative filter and quantitative filters are available in both binder free and wet-strengthened, also called hardened, versions across a wide range of micron ratings and filtration speeds. Many standard and custom circle sizes are also available. Some qualitative grades are available in pleated, or fluted, for greater convenience.
Qualitative filter papers are often used in routine separation work that
still requires high purity and consistent performance. These filter papers cover a wide range of laboratory applications, as liquids clarification, qualitative analytical separations for precipitates and buffers filtration, as well as soil analysis and food and beverage testing
Quantitative filter papers are manufactured from top quality cotton linters using ultra-pure, deionized water and are further treated with dilute acid to remove any remaining organic and inorganic impurities. All quantitative grades are manufactured in a strictly controlled environment that ensures high uniformity and high purity from filter to filter. Filter papers are designed for use in analytical and gravimetric analysis.
Ahlstrom offers the Ahlstrom brand in North America and the Munktell Ahlstrom brand in Europe.
