Woven products
Ahlstrom woven products are glassfiber reinforcements used in various applications. You could be making boats or wind turbine blades, sports equipment or vehicle bodies, electrical insulation or anticorrosive wrapping for tanks and pipes. Our woven products can be modified to meet the customer specific requirements. They are commonly used with chopped strand mats as structural layers of the laminates or as primary structure of large hand lay-up vessels.
Ahlstrom woven products are binder free and suitable for numerous production processes: hand lay-up, filament winding, pultrusion, continuous lamination as well as closed molds. Almost any weave pattern can be woven with glass products, e.g. twill and satin weaves are highly drapeable. Unidirectional weaves are most suitable for applications where greater strength is needed in one specific direction.
Woven products can also be produced as narrow tapes with woven or sealed edges.

Technology
