Ahlstrom’s new Breathable Viral Barrier (BVB™) fabric is a tri-laminate polypropylene based composite material with a breathable monolithic film. It is strong with good softness, high breathability, and provides excellent barrier properties against real world viruses causing infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, SARS and Avian Influenza. The fabrics can be used in applications such as surgical gowns (for operating rooms/theatres) and protective apparel (hospital and external environment).
Outer layer provides strength.
Middle layer is a responsive, monolithic membrane that provides an impervious barrier and remains breathable at all times.
Inner layer provides a soft touch to the wearer’s skin
Benefits of Ahlstrom BVB include:
Abrasion and puncture resistant
Barrier to liquid and viruses
Cool and comfortable
Lightweight
