Sterilization wraps

Our range of sterilization wraps is developed to maintain the sterility of surgical instruments until the point-of-use, protecting patients' safety.

Our Reliance® range of fabrics can be used for sterilization wraps, packaging systems and absorbent tray liners.

  • Crepe, wetlaid and SMS fabrics in a variety of colors and basis weights 
  • Reliance® Solo single-step wrapping solutions offer two bonded sheets of SMS for faster wrapping and unwrapping without compromising sterility and aseptic opening

Health-Gard® Medical base papers

Medical base papers ideal for surgical drapes, hospital gowns, and specialty wipes

Ahlstrom produces high-quality, medical base papers, available in several colors, designed for hydroentanglement/spunlacing.  The end textile product is ideal for surgical drapes, hospital gowns, and specialty wipes.

Typical end-use products include:

  • Medical glove & catheter packaging
  • Gauze wrap
  • First-aid dressings
  • Lidding stock

These grades are designed for sterilization using ETO, autoclave and gamma methods. Based on the application, functionality regarding controlled peel with/without fiber lift and controlled opacity are designed into the sheet.

Papers are engineered for cold seal DPO (natural or synthetic latex) or heat seal DPO (cohesive or direct seal systems) depending on your specification.

We recognize the lengthy qualification procedures necessary to meet design specifications, and offer a cooperative development approach to expedite the process.
