Governance

Ahlstrom has adopted an integrated governance model for day-to-day sustainability implementation where the accountability of progressing with the sustainability targets is with a corresponding function or division with closest connection to the sustainability topic.

Good governance is the foundation of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct. We aim to be a trusted partner by doing business with integrity, following all applicable regulations and laws, and acting sustainably.

The President and CEO, along with the Executive Management Team (EMT), set our main sustainability goals and make sure we have the right resources to achieve them. These goals are approved by the Board of Directors.

Our Sustainability team works with the Head of Corporate Risk Management to regularly review and update our understanding of sustainability risks and opportunities. The Executive Vice President of Procurement and Sustainability reports on our progress and brings important issues to the EMT.

The Group Sustainability Function leads the rollout of our sustainability efforts across the company. This team includes experts who support and guide our work in key sustainability areas.
