Ahlstrom and Fiorini International receive Silver Award at the Packaging News Sustainability & Impact Awards 2026
Ahlstrom and Fiorini International have been recognized with the Silver Award in the Snacks, Confectionery & Pet Food Packaging category at the Packaging News Sustainability & Impact Awards 2026. The award ceremony took place on 14 July at the Kia Oval in London, celebrating the industry's most impactful innovations in sustainable packaging.
The award recognizes the successful collaboration between Ahlstrom and Fiorini International in developing an innovative paper-based pet food bag that combines PawPrint® by Ahlstrom, a high-performance paper designed for pet food packaging, with Fiorini International's converting expertise.
The project demonstrates how close collaboration across the value chain can accelerate the transition toward more sustainable packaging solutions without compromising performance. By combining complementary expertise in specialty materials and packaging conversion, we developed a paper-based solution that meets the demanding requirements of pet food packaging while supporting the industry's move toward more recyclable packaging.
"We are honored to receive this recognition alongside Fiorini International," said Ludovica Peretto, Vice President, Food Packaging Europe & Asia, Ahlstrom. "This award reflects the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to developing innovative paper-based packaging solutions that help customers achieve their sustainability goals. The collaboration between Ahlstrom and Fiorini International is built on a shared vision of advancing sustainable packaging through innovation and customer-focused development. The Silver Award recognizes not only the technical achievements of the project but also the value of long-term partnerships in bringing new solutions to market.
