This strategic investment increases production capacity, strengthens quality control, and expands manufacturing flexibility for pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and industrial filtration applications.
Ahlstrom, a global leader in fiber-based specialty materials, has completed a significant investment in Line 3 at its Kingston manufacturing facility in New York, US, increasing production capacity for high-performance depth filtration media. The upgrade of Line 3 delivers an increase in production capacity, improved manufacturing efficiency, and greater flexibility to manufacture a wider range of product widths.
The investment supports Ahlstrom’s depth filtration media portfolio, providing solutions for critical applications including pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical processing, beverage clarification, and industrial liquid filtration. These products play an essential role in removing particles and impurities, supporting efficient filtration processes and consistent end-product quality.
The modernization of key production equipment and process control systems also enhances manufacturing precision, process stability, and quality control. For customers, these improvements mean greater supply flexibility, more consistent product quality, and increased confidence in filtration performance.
“This investment reinforces our commitment to providing customers with high-performance depth filtration solutions,” said Tamara Quatrano, Vice President, Lab & Life Sciences Business, Ahlstrom. “By expanding our manufacturing capacity, enhancing product flexibility, and strengthening quality control, we are better equipped to meet evolving market requirements and support our customers’ growth.”
“Completing this complex upgrade safely was a remarkable team effort,” said Ashish Pannu, Head of Depth Filtration, Ahlstrom Kingston Plant. “Our colleagues worked closely with contractors and technical partners throughout the project, demonstrating outstanding expertise, dedication, and a shared commitment to safety.”
This project marks another important milestone in Ahlstrom’s commitment to operational excellence, product innovation, and long-term customer value.
