Ahlstrom considers issuance of hybrid bond

Ahlstrom Corporation, a leading supplier of nonwovens and specialty papers, is considering the issuance of a hybrid capital bond. The potential issue is expected to be launched in the near future subject to market conditions. The targeted size of the issue is approximately EUR 80 million. Nordea Markets has been appointed as a sole book runner of the potential issue. Summa Capital Oy has acted as Ahlstrom's adviser in the preparation of the arrangement.
 
A hybrid bond is an instrument which is subordinated to the company's other debt obligations and which is treated as equity in the IFRS financial statements. Hybrid bonds do not confer to their holders the right to vote at shareholder meetings and do not dilute the holdings of the current shareholders.
