Nonwoven filter media for water purification
Water filters ensure the safety and quality of the water we consume thanks to their ability to effectively removing harmful contaminants. Our Disruptor® nonwoven filter media is creating several new opportunities in the water purification industry with a special focus on personal, residential, commercial and industrial applications.
How does Disruptor® work?
Disruptor® is a breakthrough technology, not a mechanical filter media, based on the natural mineral pseudoboehmite, AIO(OH). Not directly comparable to any other water purification media currently in the market, Disruptor® is an electroadsorptive technology: due to its crystal structure, the mineral creates a natural, strong positive charge which attracts the negative charge present on most submicron contaminants.
Why choose Disruptor®?
Disruptor® has the ability to reduce a wide range of submicron particulates, pathogens, trace pharmaceuticals and cellular debris, making water safe to consume. Additionally, electro adsorption delivers filtration with low-pressure drop and many times the flow rate as compared to conventional mechanical filters.
- Independent testing has shown Disruptor® reduces a wide range of pathogens including E.coli and Legionella
- With the ability to remove biofoulants, Disruptor® is an effective pre-filter to protect reverse osmosis membranes from biofouling, and increasing permeate production while reducing operating cost
- Disruptor® PAC contains activated carbon improving taste, odor and clarity by the absorption of chlorinated compounds and disinfection by product
- Disruptor® delivers submicron filtration efficiency at higher flow and at lower pressure as compared to conventional water filtration
A wide spectrum of applications
Disruptor® technology is creating many new application opportunities across the entire range of water purification.
