A Ahlstrom-Munksjö é muito forte globalmente no segmento de rótulos, tanto colados quanto autoadesivos. No Brasil, essa relevância é igualmente valorizada pela empresa.
Conforme apresentado na 1ª edição do Papel Interativo, atendemos o mercado de rótulos autoadesivos com a família Silco Classic (liner) e com a Lumimax Premium (como o frontal), mas no caso dos rótulos colados, trabalhamos exclusivamente com o Lumimax Premium. Isso porque, nesta aplicação, o papel couchê L1 é colado diretamente em embalagens de aço, vidro, e outros materiais, sem a utilização de um substrato que transporte estes rótulos à embalagem final.
Estes tipos de rótulos são amplamente utilizados no Brasil e outros países da América do Sul nos segmentos de bebidas, alimentos e limpeza, nos quais o apelo por impressões de alta qualidade, praticidade no processo de aplicação e competitividade de custos predominam como drivers no processo de decisão. As gráficas que atuam neste segmento normalmente possuem um parque instalado de impressoras offset e máquinas de corte e vinco, que também trabalham com embalagens cartonadas e têm, à sua disposição, diversas técnicas de acabamento que possibilitam trabalhos gráficos de altíssima diferenciação.
Nosso Lumimax Premium, com gramaturas de 70gsm à 140gsm, atende há mais 20 anos este segmento com altíssima qualidade de impressão, devido ao seu revestimento off-line, sua excelente rugosidade e alto brilho, garantindo uma ótima apresentação dos rótulos e o destaque dos produtos finais na gondola. Além destas características, o controle de encanoamento, a estabilidade dimensional e revestimento no dorso garantem alta produtividade no processo de impressão das gráficas e nas rotuladeiras dos clientes finais, com maior velocidade, menor número de paradas e baixo consumo de cola.
Outro diferencial da Ahlstrom-Munksjö Jacareí para o segmento de rótulos colados é a estrutura de acabamento. Nossas cortadeiras possibilitam a entrega de papéis em folhas com cortes de altíssima qualidade, evitando a necessidade de refile, em formatos sob medida. Os produtos podem ser entregues em pallet, que alimentarão diretamente a impressora do cliente, ou embalados em resmas, para o atendimento de pequenas tiragens e garantindo a proteção dos papéis.
Atenta às demandas deste mercado e alinhada às nossas capacidades de Pesquisa & Desenvolvimento, a Ahlstrom-Munksjö busca continuamente soluções técnicas para avançar no desenvolvimento de papéis couchê L1 com características especiais como, por exemplo, resistência à umidade para bebidas ou barreira à gordura para azeites. Também contamos com o know-how acumulado na Europa pela nossa Unidade de Negócio de Specialties, com estrutura para embalagens e rótulos, que nos traz conhecimento para sobrepor eventuais barreiras.
Temos expectativa de crescimento deste mercado na América do Sul e, por isso mesmo, nosso objetivo para os próximos anos é avançar em os outros países da região, onde nossa participação ainda é pequena.
Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s performance, solutions, and expectations in the Wet Glue market
Ahlstrom-Munksjö is globally very strong in the industry of labels, in both wet-glue and self-adhesive segments. In Brazil, this relevance is equally valued by the company.
As presented in Papel Interativo 1st edition, we supply the self-adhesive market with Silco Classic (CCK release liner) and Lumimax Premium (facestock) product families; but we only work with Lumimax Premium for the wet-glue market. That is because, for this application, the coated one-side paper is glued directly to packages made of steel, glass, and other materials, without the use of a substrate that transports these labels to the final packaging.
These types of label are widely used in Brazil and other South-American countries in the segments of beverages, food, and cleaning products, for which the appeal of high-quality printing, convenience in the application process, and cost competitiveness are the predominant decision-making drivers. Wet-glue Converting companies usually have offset printers and cutting machinery that also work with cartonboards and have at their disposal several finishing techniques that allow highly-differential graphic work.
Our Lumimax Premium, with grammages ranging from 70gsm to 140gsm, has been servicing this segment for over 20 years with high-quality printing due to its offline coating, excellent roughness and high-gloss, ensuring an excellent presentation and making the final product stand out in the shelf. In addition to these characteristics, curling control, dimensional stability, and back coating ensures a high-productivity in the printing process, both at the converting companies and at end-users’ labeling machines, with a higher speed, fewer stops, and low glue consumption.
Another differential of Ahlstrom-Munksjö Jacareí for the wet-glue label segment is our finishing structure. Our cutting machines are able to deliver sheets of paper with high-quality cutting, avoiding the need for custom formats refiling. The paper can be delivered on pallets that will directly feed the client’s printer, or packed in reams for smaller jobs, thus assuring the protection of the paper.
Align to the demands of the market and to our Research & Development efforts, Ahlstrom-Munksjö continuously searches for technical solutions to advance in the development of coated one-side papers with special characteristics, such as water resistance for beverages or grease barriers. We also have at our disposal all the accumulated know-how of our Specialties Business Area, with a structure for packaging and labels, which we can use to overcome development challenges.
We expect this market to grow in South-America, that is why our goal for the next few years is to advance in other countries in the area where we still have small participation.
